Membership

Is it free to use Babiry?

Yes! You can create an account completely free and start documenting your child's memories right away. The free membership gives you access to all the core features.

What are the limitations of the free account?

With the free account you can use most features, but there are a few limitations:

  • Up to 100 photos total
  • Limited number of albums
  • Limited number of people you can invite to your diary

Account

How do I create an account on Babiry?

It's easy to get started! Here's how:

  1. Go to Babiry.com
  2. Click Sign Up
  3. Enter your email address, a password, and a username
  4. Click Create account

That's it! Now you can create your diary and start saving your family's memories.

How do I sign in?

  1. Click Sign in
  2. Enter your email address and password
  3. Click Sign in

I forgot my password – what do I do?

No worries! You can easily create a new password:

  1. Click Forgot password? on the sign-in page
  2. Enter your email address
  3. You'll receive a link via email to create a new password

Note: For security reasons, your account will be temporarily locked for 3 hours after 3 failed sign-in attempts.

Why do you need my email address?

We use your email address to:

  • Send password reset links if you forget your password
  • Notify you about important updates

We will never sell your email address or share it with third parties. Your privacy is important to us.

How securely is my password stored?

Your password is stored using one-way encryption, which means it is converted into a form that cannot be reversed. No one can read your password – not even us. If you forget your password, you'll need to create a new one.

Can I change my username?

Usernames usually can't be changed. If you have an important reason, feel free to contact us via the contact page and we'll look into the possibility. However, we can't guarantee that it will be possible.

Can I change my email address?

Yes, you can change it through your account settings:

  1. Go to My Account → Settings
  2. Change your email address
  3. Confirm the new address via email

Note: Each email address can only be used for one account.

How do I change my profile picture?

  1. Go to My Account → Settings
  2. Click on your profile picture
  3. Upload a new image from your device

Your profile picture is visible to other members, so feel free to pick a photo that represents you.

How do I close my account?

If you'd like to close your account, contact us via the contact page and provide:

  • Your username
  • The reason for closing your account

We'll process your request as soon as possible. Make sure to save any content you want to keep before closing your account.

Diary

What is a diary on Babiry?

Your diary is the central place where you collect everything about your family. Here you can write posts, add children, create albums, and invite family and friends to follow along. Each account has one diary.

How do I write a diary post?

Posts are the heart of your diary – this is where you share stories, thoughts, and everyday moments. Here's how:

  1. Go to your diary
  2. Click Create post
  3. Write your text and add a cover image if you'd like
  4. Choose who can read the post (everyone, members, or family and friends)
  5. Publish!

How do I invite family and friends to my diary?

You can invite up to 20 people to read and write in your diary. Invited people always have access, regardless of your privacy setting.

  1. Go to your diary's administration page
  2. Enter the person's email address and choose a role
  3. Send the invitation – they'll receive an email with an invitation link

There are three roles: Owner (full control), Admin (can create and manage content), and Reader (can read and comment). The invitation link is valid for 3 days.

How do I change my diary's profile picture?

  1. Go to your diary's administration page
  2. Click the pencil icon next to the profile picture
  3. Choose to:
    • Upload a new image
    • Select from existing images in the diary
    • Remove the current image

How do I change the cover image?

  1. Go to your diary's homepage
  2. Click the icon in the upper right corner of the cover
  3. Select Change cover
  4. Upload a new image or select from existing ones

Recommended size: 1110 × 300 pixels (minimum 800 × 150 pixels).

Who can read my diary?

You decide who gets to read your diary by choosing a privacy setting:

  • Private – Only you and invited members can read
  • Open for members – All signed-in users can read
  • Password protected – Visitors need to enter a password that you choose
  • Open for all – Anyone can read your diary

Note: Your diary's name, description, and profile picture are always visible, except when the diary is set to private.

Children

How do I add a child?

You can add multiple children to your diary. Each child gets their own profile with growth tracking, progress, memories, and memory books.

  1. Go to your diary's homepage
  2. Click Add child
  3. Enter the child's name and birthdate
  4. Click Create

How do I record my child's height and weight?

Under the Growth tab on the child's profile, you can track your child's development over time with height, weight, and head circumference.

  1. Go to the child's profile
  2. Click the Growth tab
  3. Click Add growth
  4. Enter date, height, and weight
  5. Click Save

How do I document my child's progress?

Progress is a great way to document everything your child learns – from crawling to riding a bike.

  1. Go to the child's profile
  2. Click the Progress tab
  3. Click Add progress
  4. Enter date, title, and description
  5. Click Save

What are memories?

Memories let you preserve your child's most important milestones in a beautiful, structured way. Under the Memories tab on the child's profile, you can document moments such as:

  • Birth
  • First word
  • First step
  • Baptism
  • First day of preschool
  • And much more

Memories can then be featured in your child's memory books and shared with family and friends.

Photo Albums

How do I create a photo album?

Photo albums help you organize images and video clips from different occasions and time periods. Here's how to create one:

  1. Go to the Albums page in your diary
  2. Click Create album
  3. Enter a title for the album
  4. Choose a privacy setting
  5. Click Create

How do I upload photos?

  1. Open the album you want to add photos to
  2. Click Add photos
  3. Drag and drop photos or click Select images
  4. Photos will upload automatically

Supported formats: JPEG, PNG, and GIF.

Can I upload video clips?

Yes! You can upload video clips to your albums. Here's how:

  1. Open the album you want to add a video to
  2. Click Upload video
  3. Select a video file from your device
  4. If the file is too large, you can compress it directly in the uploader before sending

Max file size: 30 MB per video clip. Most video formats are supported. If your file is larger, you can use the built-in compression to reduce the size.

Note: The video is processed after upload and may take a moment before it becomes visible in the album.

Do I need permission to upload photos and videos?

Yes, you are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload all material – both photos and video clips. Make sure you have consent from everyone who appears in the material, especially when it involves other people's children. Please read our Terms of Service for more information.

How many photos can I upload?

With the free account you can upload up to 100 photos total.

Who can see my photos?

You choose the privacy setting for each album:

  • Private – Only you and invited members
  • Members – All signed-in users
  • All – Anyone can see the photos

Can I delete albums?

Yes, you can delete any album you've created. The exception is system albums that are created automatically, such as the album for uploaded profile pictures and covers.

Memory Books

What is a memory book?

A memory book brings together memories, progress, and photos in a beautiful, interactive book that you can flip through – just like a real book. It's a wonderful way to present and share your child's story with family and friends.

How do I create a memory book?

  1. Go to the child's profile
  2. Click Create book
  3. Choose which memories, progress, and photos to include
  4. Customize the appearance, colors, and style
  5. Save your book

How many memory books can I create?

You can create multiple books per child:

  • Public books: Up to 3 per child
  • Private books: Up to 10 per child

How do I share a memory book?

It depends on the privacy setting you've chosen for the book:

  • Public – The book is displayed with a link on the child's page and follows the diary's privacy setting
  • Private – You share a unique link with the people you want to give access to

Groups

What are groups?

Groups are communities where parents can share experiences, ask questions, and support each other. You can join existing groups or create your own.

How do I create a group?

  1. Go to Groups
  2. Click Create group
  3. Enter name, title, and description
  4. Choose a privacy setting
  5. Click Create

What privacy settings are available for groups?

  • Public – Anyone can find and read the group
  • Private – Visible in search results, but requires membership to read the content
  • Secret – Can only be found via invitation and doesn't appear in search results
  • Members only – Visible to all users with an account

How do I join a group?

  1. Search for groups or click an invitation link
  2. Click Join
  3. Wait for approval (for private groups)

How do I invite members to my group?

  1. Go to the group's administration page
  2. Click Invitations
  3. Enter the username
  4. Send the invitation

Invited members are automatically approved when they apply for membership.

What are categories in groups?

Categories help you organize posts in the group. You can create categories such as:

  • General
  • Questions and Answers
  • Tips and Advice

As an administrator, you can create and manage categories to make it easy for everyone to find what they're looking for.

Can I post anonymously in a group?

It depends on the group's settings. Some groups allow anonymous posts so you can share your thoughts without showing your name. Other groups require you to show who you are.

How do I report inappropriate content?

  1. Find the content you want to report
  2. Click the three dots (⋮)
  3. Select Report
  4. Describe the issue
  5. Submit your report

We review all reports and take appropriate action.
